Mattel, Inc. has voluntarily recalled a number of Fisher-Price Licensed Character toys made by a contract manufacturer in China that were produced using a non-approved paint pigment containing lead which is in violation of applicable standards, as well as Mattel's own self-imposed standards. Mattel is conducting a thorough investigation.
94,305 units of these products have been manufactured for the UK and Ireland. The toys were available nationwide from May 2007 to August 2007.
If consumers have any of these products in their home they should stop using these immediately and contact the Fisher-Price UK consumer helpline on 01628 500303 or email: helplineUK@Mattel.com who will arrange for the return of the items and a replacement toy of equivalent value.
There have been no injuries regarding these products but the surface paints on the toys could contain excessive levels of lead.
