Hi all, at last something is sorted. I recieved a call from Trevor Sargent about the Gael Scoil. It seems that they were at fist given only 75% funding, while the new Bracken Ed together was giving 100%. Well we can all see that ,thats not fair. Trevor held a meeting with the minister for Education and the Gael scoil will now get funding of 100%.
I for one am delighted for them. My children couldn't go to the school as it wasn't suitable for them re: tempoary building etc. But I am so happy for all who have worked very very hard to get the school up and running. It's about time they where given what they deserve. Now all thats left is to sort out which school goes where. Then Trevor can start looking at the secondary school crisis thats on its way. cathy
That is fantastic Cathy. I have heard that there is a secondary school being built in Donabate for 2010 but I'm not sure where but such good news on a community front.
Hi Cathy I meant to say this to you the other day when I saw you.
It was permanent status and 95% funding the Gael Scoil got not 100% as you were told. I think they are pushing for 100% to bring them in line with the funding received by the Educate Together school.
Do you know Trevor told you (and other people) before the principal or parents of the Gael Scoil were informed that's a bit strange isn't it?
They have just got to get a permanent site now...................................
