Birthday Present

Hi Girls,
Eoin's birthday is coming up, anyone got any suggestions on a first birthday present?
Please help, I'm really stuck, people keep asking me and I haven't a clue.
Have tons of clothes, prize bonds and a savings account already.
Thanks.

Hi

We were terrible, we bought Daniel a play-pen for his birthday (more a present for me than him!).

I honestly don't think there's any point in going mad and spending a lot of money on a baby's first birthday.  They really don't care (do you remember what you got for your first birthday?) and he's going to have plenty of birthdays when he's older where he'll be looking for computer consoles, bikes and other pricey items!  I think it's more important to make sure both you and Eoin have a really enjoyable day and one that you will remember for a long time.

A good suggestion is something that he will enjoy and that will keep him occupied for a while (bonus for you!).  Maybe bring him to a toy shop and see what interests him?  I know it's such a cliché, but he honestly will have more fun playing with the wrapping paper and the boxes anyway!

Don't know if that's of any help to you.

Hi,

Hylke just had his birthday and we got him some wooden building blocks, the good thing about them is that his daddy was kept busy building things and Hylke was busy trying to throw them over, very enjoyable to watch.....but at the end of the day Clodagh is right, he had more fun with the wrapping paper himself then any of the the other fancy music playing gifts that he was presented with.........he did also enjoy the cake which I made (his first taste of chocolate) basically my advice would be to keep it simple, maybe do a nice cake and make sure you enjoy yourselves because in my experience a stressed out mummy is a stressed out baby, good luck

thanks guys, I bought him a Sassy Musical Bobbing Sprites - we have a few of their produts, they are brill! Tesco sell them , not in Balbriggan though, bigger stores.
The toy is for the bath!

I'll let you know what he thinks of it, poor little mite, he's in bed asleep since 6:30 worn out.

Just had a simple tea party, food for adults and kids with plenty of toys.
