I want to get one too because my sister moved to Australia a month ago (missing her terribly ).  I have to look into them myself but I'd imagine it's just a case of downloading some software from a CD and plugging it in (I hope anyway ).  Your best friend and yourself should look into Skype too.  You can make free calls to all over the world from your computer to anybody else who has Skype too.  Click here for their website.
