Coping with going back to work

Hey girls,

Just wanted to say thanks for the well wished about going back to work.  Its been hard but were surviving.  Ella is sick at the moment.  She has a bad chest infection so Daddy is at home with her at the moment.

Its a total culture shock going back.  Its great for the adult conversation but its really really hard leaving Ella for so long each day.  I really enjoy the evenings with her.

Will keep you all posted on how we are doing.

Talk soon

Hi Gillian,

Thanks for letting us know how you're getting on.  I really hope it gets easier for you.  I think it's probably much harder on you than it is on little Ella.

The poor little thing - Daniel has a chest infection too, there seems to be one going around.  Hope she's feeling better too and the rest of you have avoided it.

Keep us posted and, like I said above, I hope it starts getting a little easier for you.

there's a bad dose going round, think everyone has been sick recently so if you haven't been sick beware! Both Eoin and I are sick, he has an ear and respiratory infection and I have a mild throat infection. It's so horrible when they are sick and can't communicate with you.
Hope Ella's doing ok Gillian!

Hi girls,

Hylke had an ear and throat infection twice within the last two months and managed to pass it on to me was just wondering about this chest infection that is doing the rounds, does it start with a nasty dry cough?? Hylke has been coughing over the past few days while his ear and throat seem to be fine...if so I may just keep him away from other kids so as to stop it from spreading

Thanks Sharon, Charlie and everyone for the good wishes.  Ella is so better since she has been on the antibiotics.  Yeah Rikkie.  Thats how Ella started.  Dry cough and then the coughing all the time.  She was physically sick a couple of times especially when the cough got too much for her.

Hope you all feel better soon

hi gillian meet your hubby and ella at the doctors on monday. elliot took a shine to her. not surprised though she is sooo cute. your hubby was a great help when elliot went to leg it on me. i still have to get used to fact he is walking.

Wow, I can't believe how many of us are sick   Myself and Daniel are just finishing off our antibiotics but to be honest, even with the antibiotic, Daniel doesn't seem to be shaking it off as fast as I though he would   It seems to be a really nasty one.

Hope everybody's starting to feel a little bit better.

I tell you girls it doesn't rain but it poors.  I have had Ella at the doctors 3 times now.  The first was this day last week ( when Joe and Ella met Elliot and Sarah ) and then once on Saturday and again today.  I took her to the medical centre round at Dunnes on Saturday.  The doc is really really nice and is very gentle with the children.  He was telling me that he has a stroppy two year old and is well used to all the coughs and colds.

I found out that Ella has a bronchilitis and she needs to be on inhalers for it.  Its a bit scary to be honest because she is really strugglying when she coughs.  She is not on any more antibiotics yet but I have a script just in case.

Yeah sorry to hear so many of us are cought up with this infection but they say November is the month for all these virus.

Hope you are all feeling better soon.

I believe that there are more colds now because Autumn was so late this year. Sure you can see it, all the leaves are still on the trees. Hasn't really been a cold snap yet. Mad isn't it?

Hi everyone,

Well I do hope everybody is feeling a bit better now.......saw some of you around at it seems most of the viruses have been beaten......Hylke is so much better, I thought for a moment he was going to develop this chest infection but he's coughing less and less........fingers crossed that will be the last of it.....

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and i hope everyone is well. It's been so long since i have been on the site, its nice to know it is still going strong. We just got broadband yesterday, so it is much quicker now so hopefully i will be able to check in more often. A blessing since i have hardly any time to myself now that i am back at work.

Hope all the christmas trees are going up.We put ours up on friday and Zoe is amazed by it. She stares at all the twinkling lights, im sure it wont be long before she tries to pull it down!

Miss all the coffee meets and picnics, hope to see some of you around over the christmas.

Ciara and Zoe.

Talking about going back to work - I'm back in work on the 8th of January :O  I can't believe how fast the time has gone, it's madness.... have been putting it to the back of my mind but its coming ever closer now HELP !! I'm having mixed emotions about Christmas - on one hand I can't wiat for it, but on the other hand it just means its closer to me going back to work..

I shouldn't complain really - I'm quite lucky in that I'm only going back part time (3 days a week) but its just the whole thing of getting up early in the morning and getting organised, but I'm sure after a few weeks I'll be back into the swing of things, and I'm sure my job will be the same - after a few weeks it will feel like i've never been away LOL

My mam is going to be looking after Sean - so that will be a great help... She can't wait LOL

We should organise something for meeting up over the Christmas, in case we all have cabin fever.
