How are you all doing? I found this site and think it is just great to have something local!
My name is Clare and I am a WAHM here in Balbriggan. I have a little boy, Cian, who is 14 months old and has just recenty started walking and so is into EVERYTHING!!!
Hi Clare, Welcome! Unfortunately the site has been very quiet recently but there will be changes coming soon so bear with it.
It's great when the babies start to walk!
Hope to meet up with you at one of the coffee mornings soon.
Last year we organised picnics on the green at Moylaragh and they went really well, as the weather improves we hope to have picnics again, once the fence is finished!
Thanks very much for your reply. I just got the email notification there.
It would be great to meet up with you and everyone at one of the coffee mornings. When are they? And do I just show up? I am a bit shy! Will it be obvious enough who the group is?
The picnics sound great too. I live in Moylaragh. I don't think they are putting that fence up though. I heard there was some dispute over how it looked or something . They stopped anyway and have recently taken it all down. So I dunno what's happening with it now.
Good to hear from you and I look forward to chatting with you.
i too am living in moylaragh,, i havent gone back to work yet iam off with pnd. my little man is 7mths old and is so good just like his big brother....i also am very shy and would love to meet other mums in area,,,,
I'm very sorry to hear about your pnd Mumoftwo. A girlie mums meeting is definitely in order.
3.30pm in Cate's Cafe on Friday would suit me fine. I look forward to it.
Yes, any other mums available??
Maybe we should post it under Outings and Get-togethers?
How will I know what you look like? I am about 5'7" with short brown hair (will probably be up) and Cian will be in a Mamas and Papas blue, check buggy.
Sheila, that's grand. My little guy will probably want to be running around at some point so I may not be able to stay too long myself. A few snacks though should keep him quiet for a while anyway.
Sure we'll see you if you make it in. If not, I'm sure we'll have plenty more Fridays.
Are you still up for it Juniper? I am if you are. Or would you rather wait until the next Friday when Sheila might be able to go?
Yes myself and June met up last Friday and had a lovely time! Little 2 week old Jack is SO adorable! We are definitely on for doing it again, so let us know when you can too and we'll arrange something.
Thanks great! It makes such a difference when you can meet some local moms. Most Friday's suit me, but can't say if they suit Eoin?!?!? Ha ha. No I'd love to meet you guys on Friday if you are making it a weekly thing that'd be great, or let me know another day. I'm sure Eoin would be delighted to have another toddler with him.
That would be great! I'm afraid I can't meet up this Friday or next as my Mother-in-law is coming over for a visit, but I can meet the Friday after for sure.
I don't know about June and Sheila, but maybe if you post in on the get-together and outings section, they might see it.
Also, it would be great if we could find a playgroup where there is an area for our little ones to play and toys etc. and us sit down for a bit and drink tea. Do you know of any in Balbriggan? Maybe I'll make a new post for it. Because I know how you feel with Eoin. My little guy won't sit for too long either in a high chair and it would be nice to have somewhere for them to run around on those not so fine days when picnics are out.
Yeah Clare right now I go to 2 parent and toddler groups. 1 in Balbriggan on a monday and 1 in Balrothery on a friday. check out this link: http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=83268&p=3&topicID=7730194
It's in the General section Parent and child groups under 5's.
Hopefully we can have some picnics this year, very disappointed about the railing coming down from the green. We could meet at Templeville or maybe Ashfield. It is really hard to go for coffee, maybe we could meet for luch one day and that way if the kids were eating it wouldn't be so hard to entertain them?!?!?
Thanks a lot for that. I will check out that link.
Picnics would be great! And any of thse places. Lunch is a very good idea too. They are definitely better when they are eating.
My MIL is arriving tomorrow and will be staying with us for a week, but as soon as she is gone, I will be free again for any of those outings. Maybe some of the other girls would like to come too. We must post it up and see.
