Creche & Childcare in Balbriggan

Hi

Apparently, I need to get my act together & sort out childcare for when I go back to work in Feb!  I just keep putting it off!
Anyway, not sure what to do.  Childminder or creche, or I guess it depends on what is available, but if anyone has any advice/recommendations, I would really appreciate it.  DS will be 10 mths then and will be there probably near 12 hrs a day unfortunately as we both work in town.

Also, I know we can't openly discuss creche's etc but if anyone has any recommendations locally, you might pm me.  Have looked into the new one opening in sept in Cardy rock, but hesitant to book a place when I can't see it or the staff!

Any info/advice much appreciated.

Thanks
Anacou

Hey guys,

Im finding myself in the same situation as Anacou (original thread) and am due to start back to work in May. I've spoken to most of the local creche owners and have shortlisted a few I intend visiting. Has anyone any recommendations with regard to the creches listed on Dors "sticky" and if they do, could they pm me?

Thanks,

Kelly

Girls will PM you both now but my best advice is to ring around to see where would have a space available then make an appointment to visit there arm yourself with a list of questions that are important to you and then maybe ask around to see what can find out about those places.

I have found that it is very much an individual thing as I may like 1 creche for 1 reason and you may not.

Best of luck!

Thanks for that info Doreen. Just wondering if you or any of the other mums have had any experiences with Circle of Friends creche?

Hi I haven't any direct experience of that Creche but I believe they only take 11 children and I think they have 4 staff for those 11 children, I'm sure I read that in a recent newspaper advert. We did a survey of Childcare facilities' costs for the Childcare Committee recently and they were amongst the most reasonable.

Hope that helps but you are really best to give them a ring and arrange to go up for a look.

Thanks for the input Nancy. It was really a matter of visiting the creche a couple of times, speaking to the staff and then deciding! I'm sorted now but still dreading going back to work. Oh the joys! wink
