Bridget if you fancy meeting up I'm around most of the week. There are a good few of us who have toddlers and meet up during the week

Or try swimming, or the beach (weather permitting obviously), check the notice boards and see if there are any other fun classes for kids.

If you have access to a car, the Botanic Gardens are running an exhibition of sculptures until 19th October. There are pieces of work dotted around the entire gardens, many are just perfect for little hands to explore. My two toddlers made it into a little treasure hunt, running around trying to find the next piece. Also there are still plenty of squirrels running around the place. The lads were really excited about them. Bring some nuts with you and they'll be happy to come over to say hello. I intend to take a return trip again soon.

Kids love music. Get them to help you put some rice into an empty washing up liquid bottle, turn up the radio and let them dance around the house. I was at a birthday party recently and the lads got a harmonica in a pass the parcel. It comes out every day to make 'moozik.' Thankfully we live in a detatched house as if I had neighbours next door I am sure they would fear for my sanity. We have little discos in the kitchen and make a human train and dance around the house. Don't know how I'm not seven stone.

A tub of bubbles is a great distraction, even for the grumpiest toddler. They love to burst them as you are blowing them. I usually grab them if I see a temper rising and it usually works a treat, as they forget about what was bothering them.

Also, I know this might sound daft or completely obvious, but toddlers love repetition. Just because you might get bored bringing them to the same playground, or playing the same games everyday, doesn't mean they will.

Just as an aside, it was lovely to meet up with some of the girls yesterday at the Balrothery Mother and baby group. See you all again soon.

Cheers,
Paula
