Am brand new to site, only found you by chance. I was trying to research playschool/Primery School for my DS, he is only two this March, but anyone I talk to about school has freaked me out, apparently there aren't enough places for the kids you have to get there really early.
I need any info you ladies have on the subject.
Thanks
P.S alot of the posts are old hope you still up and running
I feel the same... my son only turned 1 at the weekend and I was told i'm rather late to put his name for Educate Together (beside Dunnes which I hear is a great school). We plan to send him to Peter & Pauls but obviously no guarantee to get in so I pre-enrolled him in Educate Together. Don't know much about the schools really as not from the area originally.
If you want your son to start playschool this Sept (as they can start age 2.5yrs) it would be a good idea to start looking now to get his name down.
If you are visiting Playschools in the area will you let me know if you found any of them particularly good? I don't really want to go around visiting them all myself but I will probably have to at some stage!
maybe somebody else will reply here with more info..
Trying to keep the site going but very hard when not alot of moms come by the site or post :( Hoping to get new flyers around the town next week.
I had my son registered in the Educate together and the Irish School and he got places for both!!! He's due to start in the Irish school this september but I had his name down since he was 5months old.
Emma I wouldn't panic just yet as you never know what will happen :)
K what else do you want to know about playschools or schools?
Sorry have been off the radar the last little while. I haven't done anything further on the school issue, I assume it's just case of calling them and going from there. I plan on doing that this week so I will keep you up to date.
My new issue is playschool, I know I am being a pain but this is all brand new. I don't even know where any of them are, am pregnant with second child now so obviously want near to home, I am up beside Dunnes. Plus my sister-in-law was telling me not to put him in playschool this year as he gets a free place when he turns 3.
I honestly haven't a clue on these issue, of course I want the best (as we all do), just trying to make the most informed decision. So again any info on my 'new issue' would be great.
