Thanks Clodagh for setting up this forum for us mums to be!
Just passing on some information to other pregnant women - i went to a safety demonstration evening in Tony Kealey's shop in Coolock and found it to be very informative yet informal.
There was no hard sales pitch just some useful pointers and advice on choosing buggies, car seats and nursery equipment. It lasted about 2 hours.
As a first time parent-to-be I found it really useful as I wouldn't necessarily know what to look out for especially when there is such a range of products out there.
They do another demonstration evening in their other store in Walkinstown if anyone is interested.
I went to an information evening in Mothercare in the Pavillions in Swords and it was great. They give you an information pack with some mothercare baby products in it and a 10% discount card. They have a midwife there too and a lady who does infant massage. I actually went after I had Eoín and thankfully he slept through the whole thing. I was a very proud mommy that day!
It was a very informative night and no question was viewed as silly and like the one you went to there was no hard sell either.
I'd certainly recommend people get as much information as they can before hand about buggies and car seats as it saves some of the stress of figuring them out at a later date.
