St Georges was great a few years ago.I have since taken my girls out. FOr a pre school I can only but 100% recommend sunbeams, run by Nancy Mullen, she took care of my asd child better then she would her own, even though my DD flodded her school she was still welcomed with open arms, so if you are looking for a preschool, sun beams is the one. As many of you may know I look after peopple with special educational needs , so I am not easyly pleased.I can remember seeing what temperture water was coming out of taps in creches, how high the toilets where.what a weirdo??? My daughter loved SUNBEAMS and Nancy was a great support, and turned into a friend. so I 100% recommend that school, I will look up the number. or pm me for info. cathy
Hi all, just want to remind anyone that is thinking of sending their child to Educate together that it is open enrolment on a first come first served basis. HTH Sinead.
I know a lot of people whose children go to St Teresa's and they all seem very happy with it. good teachers, well equipped, good atmosphere, lots of after school activities etc.
I never heard that it was less popular than other schools I think it was just as over-subscribed as them, maybe they just find this enrolment policy suits their school better?
It was recently given something like disadvantaged status for the demographic profile of (I think the area rather than the actual school) which means the children get free school lunches.
That's fantastic! Thanks so much Nancy, it could be that I live over the other side of the town and don't know anyone who's kids go to the school. I appreciate all the info.
Up until a couple of years ago the main schools in the town were St Peters & Pauls and St Teresas and to the best of my knowledge they still are the two largest schools in the town. The reason I would say most of you dont know St teresas is because it is the far end of the town. There is nothing wrong with the area where St Teresas school is (Pinewood) it is the same as all housing estates has it issues. I live there I bought a house there a few years ago. I do know in St teresas they recently started to get lunches for free have no official confirmation on as to why.

Hey sorry if I offended you. Certainly didn't mean to. i wasn't having a go at Pinewood. All I meant was that, as far as I knew, the free school lunches weren't because the school had problems, y'know like a failing school I mean. I also thought that the demographic profile of most schools would be about the same so it couldn't be that but maybe there's a higher proportion of children who count as dis-asdvantaged who attend the school? There must be someone here who's children attend St Teresa's who knows on what grounds they qualified for the free lunches?
Hello - I just have a question please - i enrolled my daughter in the Irish school on the 06.05.08 and at Educate Together 2 weeks beforehand but didnt get any feedback from them - Shouldn't i get at least a ref nb or any confirmation little one is on the list? - Thank you -
i hadn't realised St Georges was a protestant school. I see this school has now moved up passed Westbrook. I was hoping it was a Catholic school - does anyone know do they have religion on the curriculum?
